Courtesy Class Myth Buster

Courtesy Classes

At Puddle Ducks, we understand parenting and we know those curve balls that life loves to throw at us at the last minute! That is why we offer Courtesy Classes to our customers.

These are an added extra benefit to our customers, meaning that if you miss your own class you can attend a different one, so that you don't miss out. They do not allow you to tag lessons on to the end of your paid block. We simply could not retain a viable business if people attended weeks to suit them, as our costs (pool hire, teachers, poolside assistants) remain the same regardless of who turns up each week.

Courtesy Classes Facts vs Myths:

  • 'Puddle Ducks give out vouchers when they cancel classes for teacher sickness or pool issues'
    • Myth. We ALWAYS add a monetary class credit to your account, that will come off your next monthly payment or if preferred you can request to be refunded to your card straight away.
  • 'If I take a break from Puddle Ducks, all my courtesy vouchers are lost'
    • Myth. All courtesy vouchers have a 6 month expiry, however if you have been unable to use them within the 6 months, or have taken a break and returned to us, we can extend them in order that they can still be used. You just need to contact the office to extend the dates and we will happily do this for you!
  • 'I am expected to pay for lessons and attend a different class, if my pool has a holiday when other pools are running'
    • Myth. If your pool is not running lessons one week, you will not be paying for a lesson that week. It is however a good opportunity to use a Courtesy Class if you have any, at another session.

So, what is a Courtesy Class?

Good question. Basically, it is a goodwill gesture from us to you. If you can’t make your regular class, for any reason, you can let us know, with as much notice as possible, via your online My Puddle Ducks Account.

As long as you do this before class begins, we will issue you with a Courtesy Class. This is valid for six monthsas long as you are still paying for your space in a class. It enables you to attend another lesson, in place of the one you missed so that your little one doesn’t miss out on their swimming.

Here’s an example:

• Your normal class is on a Monday at 11am but your child wakes up feeling poorly. You decide not to attend the lesson that day.

• Login to your online My Puddle Ducks account at www.puddleducks.com/login, before 11am, select ‘View paid lessons/let us know you can’t attend’ from your Overview page and follow the process.

• We have now issued you with a Courtesy Class, visible in the My Children page.

Your Courtesy Class can be used at any point, and booked up to six days in advance, from the options* available to you in your My Puddle Ducks Account.

• Simply select ‘Book a Courtesy Class’, from your Overview or My Children page and follow the process.

Then just attend your booked Courtesy Class!

(*Options will only include the classes where there is an available space – full classes won’t show in the list of options).

This is why it is so important that customers let us know if they can’t attend as it frees up their space, that week, for someone to use a Courtesy Class.

If everyone follows the system and gives as much notice as possible that they can’t attend, everyone wins!
