We hope that you all enjoyed our recent charity Pyjama Week as much as we did! We are delighted to announce that we have raised a fantastic £450 from all your donations at the pool.
Wearing pyjamas during swimming lessons is about more than just having fun. Most accidents will happen while your child is fully clothed, so Pyjama Week gives a great indication of what this will feel like. It helps your little one realise that they will feel heavier but that they will still be able to do the important life saving manoeuvres like kicking to the surface and reaching for the side.
Thank you so much to the generosity of everyone who donated during our Pyjama Week as the monies raised will be split between our 3 fantastic local charities:
Rainbows Hospice based in Loughborough is a place where life limited children and their families can find care and support. The amazing team who work there help relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end.
We are lucky enough to hire their pool for our classes every Monday so we know what great work they do! Want to learn more? Then visit their website: https://www.rainbows.co.uk/
Nottingham Neonatal Unit specialises in the treatment and care of premature and sick newborn babies to ensure that they get the best start in life!
We know that several of our little Puddle Ducks have benefited from the amazing care that the unit has provided. To learn more about the work that the team do, click here: https://www.nuh.nhs.uk/specialist-services-neonatal
Finally, the incredible team who work at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in Sheffield offer care and support to children with a shortened life expectancy. For more details on this worthwhile charity, visit: https://www.bluebellwood.org/
