We are delighted to announce that Emma has won Star Teacher for Spring 2024. We had lots of fabulous nominations but this one stood out and highlighted what a great job Emma is doing.
Sam the Spa and Leisure Manager from Stratford Manor Hotel chose Emma's nomination out of the over 55 nominations received.
Thank you to Theo's mum who gave this winning nomination:
"Theo has been through a phase of crying whenever he goes into the pool or when the teacher holds him. Emma has been so patient with him, taken the time to get to know Theo and build up a lovely relationship with him. She has been very understanding and has included him in anyway she can. She has spent extra time making him feel more comfortable and encouraging him. Recently we have had a big breakthrough and she has been able to hold him to demonstrate activities, thanks to her patience, understanding and perseverance!."

I chose this one in particular as I feel creating that relationship between child and instructor can be quite tricky and it takes someone special to create that bond. Especially when the initial lessons weren’t that positive and then seeing a good change and having a breakthrough makes it all worthwhile for all those involved. Having the right instructor is crucial at this early stage to develop the skills to continue swimming and having someone like this instructor is a massive positive "
